Article of the Day: CrossFitters are Crazy!

“Apparently the word on the street is that Crossfitters are crazy and you can get hurt doing Crossfit. The answer is, “maybe a little” and “there is risk in any endeavor”. Let me explain a couple of things and hopefully I can help you to understand what Crossfit is about, not the stigma that seems to be attached to it.” – Click the link above to continue to read this article…

Athlete Profile – Steve MacLeod

What is your day job? I work for the Hospital in the Behavioral Health Unit, and the Emergency Department. I am on the Smithfield Fire Dept. as a Firefighter/EMT. I also work part time at Kleen Freek detailing and car wash. I have a few jobs…

How were you introduced to CrossFit? I was introduced by the Scott Best and Missy. Scott kept telling me to stop being a wussy and try it. So I did and haven’t stopped coming since.

What is your favorite WOD or Lift? I’ve enjoyed my time with Cindy, she really knows how to work me.

What is your favorite skill/movement that you have learned at CrossFit IoTA? Favorite skill/movement would have to be burpees probably.

How has CrossFit changed your life? CrossFit has brought a whole new sense of enjoyment in working out again to me. And has kept me feeling and playing better with the Logan Stampede.

What keeps you motivated and coming back for more? Besides the want to keep getting better. Everyone at the box. The attitude everyone has is really motivating and makes you strive to want to do and be better. I’ve been known to be quite and kinda shy but I really enjoy working out with everyone.

What’s something you know now that you wish someone would have said to you when you started CrossFit? That throwing a stupid ball in the air off a wall is gonna kick your butt!

One word to describe me would be… Reliable

I have always wanted… To Race Indy Cars!

Outside of the gym, I like to… Be outside hangout with friends and travel.

Three things you would always find in my fridge… Hopefully there is food… and if there is O.J, Eggs, & Hotpockets.

Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me… I can do a standing back tuck backflip. It’s usually my TD celebration move.haha

Favorite physical activity outside of CFI… Playing football for the Logan Stampede.

Favorite place to eat in Cache Valley… Lately Beehive Grill

Song(s) that gets me pumped up for a workout… Just about anything can.

The last thing I ate was… Bacon egg & cheese sandwich.

My proudest accomplishment is… graduating from USU.

My six month goal is… To finally do stupid Double Unders confidently.

My favorite workout attire is… Gym shorts and t-shirt

My favorite workout partner(s)… Anyone at the box with me. Everyone pushes me pretty hard.

If you created a WOD and named it after yourself what would the workout be?
Lightning-
20 burpees
20 sit ups
20 pull ups
40 squats
20 pull ups
20 sit ups
20 burpees
200m run
