Success doesn’t happen without effort, nor does it come overnight. No one gets anything they work for overnight. No matter how frustrated, broken or sore you may feel, deep down everyone that has walked through our doors and keeps coming back for more is truly extraordinary. However hidden beneath all of the clutter and hard times that life throws your way, your diamond is always there; in you.
For most of us, CrossFit is hard, really hard. Maybe, just maybe… through the daily work that we do at the box we can come to know and appreciate more fully our capacity for endurance, strength, suffering and the brightness of our own human spirit. What is more, we can take the polishing of our own diamond into our own hands. It is ultimately ourselves and our decisions we must live with. Our health and wellness is truly the only thing that cannot be taken away from us.
Showing up, doing it right, working hard, going the extra mile and being accountable for the decisions we make everyday that affect our health and well-being is truly within our power to control. To be blunt TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH! But I digress…. this is a post about SUCCESS! This is about someone who’s diamond is starting to shine, about someone who has worked hard both at and away from the gym. Jamie Anderson started CrossFitting with us back in April of this year and because she’s worked hard both in and out of the gym, she’s seen change, real physical change! I am so excited for her to be working towards meeting her goal. She’s getting there with consistency, dedication and accountability to herself. SHE is making it happen. Thank you Jamie for doing the little things that make the biggest difference, for your dedication, hard work and willingness to step out of your comfort zone. You are an inspiration and you embody why I do what I do.
Here is a little something Jamie wanted to share with everyone. “Take care of yourself first and foremost. Its really the only thing you truly have in life is your body. Just do it! No excuses! Be smart with the foods you eat. I practice the Paleo Diet and all I can say is that your body runs amazing when you are eating good, clean foods! CrossFit has made a huge difference in my life too! Not only has it changed me physically, but a whole lot mentally. Like I said…just do it!! No more excuses about why you don’t have time to take care if yourself! Watch out… I’ll continue to prove that eating good and getting in awesome WODS from Crossfit IoTA delivers results!!
“
Bottom line… Do the things that show you care for yourself: eat foods that serve your body; drink plenty of water; get enough sleep; exercise regularly; make time and space for fun; stay focussed on your vision and intention. Taking care of your health is a wise investment of your time and attention. – Coach Paul
