Athlete Profile – Christina Palmer

Christina was just a little bit excited after doing pull-ups in here first benchmark!

What is your day job? Mother of 3 kiddies, Abbey 11, McKenna 5, and Hudson 10 months and the President/CEO of Compliance Solutions Worldwide, a marketing company.

How were you introduced to CrossFit? Hmm…let’s see, Jerry Hall who introduced it to Pat and Kolett Lewis, who introduced it to me, I think that’s how it went down.

What is your favorite WOD or Lift? Tabata Say What? Tabata Say Huh? Tabata Say Who? Tabata What? Tabata Where?

What is your favorite skill/movement that you have learned at CrossFit IoTA? PULL UPS!!! I have worked, studied, practiced and practiced and can finally do a few of them in a row. YEAH!

How has CrossFit changed your life? CrossFit has given me a sense of accomplishment. I was originally only going to do CrossFit for a month, maybe two. I think to walk away at this point would be really, REALLY hard. I’ve loved getting to know the coaches and other CrossFitters. CrossFit has made me stronger physically and mentally.

One word to describe me would be… committed

I have always wanted…. go to the Kentucky Derby to wear a fancy hat.

Outside of the gym, I like to… spend time with my family and friends.

Three things you would always find in my fridge… fresh veggies, fruit and eggs

Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me… I held the mile record (5:28) at Sky View for 12 years. Britney Bushman, also an IOTA CrossFitter, now holds that record! Way to go!

Favorite physical activity outside of CFI… Run, bike, ski (both water and snow), pretty much anything that gets my heart rate up. I love, love LOVE to workout! I don’t have tacos for nothing. J

Favorite place to eat in Cache Valley… Chilis, Café Sabor

Song(s) that gets me pumped up for a workout… of course my boyfriend Bon Jovi, the 80’s…pretty much anything with a kick butt beat.

The last thing I ate was… turkey slices and ½ avocado

My proudest accomplishment is… graduating from USU and my family

My six month goal is… to be a lean, green fightin’ machine!

If I could have ANYBODY (living or dead) over for dinner, it would be… my friends call me the “Cruise Director”. I’m always planning the next vacation, weekend get away, or kickball bbq. I’d have my family and friends over. Heck everyone and anyone can come over.

My favorite workout attire is… nothing too crazy, just a tank top and pants.

My favorite workout partner(s)… Hmmm….this one is a tough one, let’s see…hello, Kolett Lewis. She is so freakin’ awesome. We are dumb (that’s me) and dumber (that’s her), peanut butter and jelly. She’s one in a million and I’m so thankful to have a BFF like her!

If you created a WOD and named it after yourself what would the workout be?

Christina’s excitement and exuberance for life and all things fitness are contagious.  I appreciate the energy she brings to the box.  She has a true desire to grow and learn and is driven to succeed.  It’s also fun to hear that the things she is learning and doing at the box are influencing and rubbing of on her family. Thanks for bringing some fun and sunshine to the box! – Paul

Check out Abbey, Christina’s daughter, doing double unders…if only they where this easy!
