2-5-11 Fitness Elevated

“Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.” – Mary Byrant

This quote says it all about what took place today in Salt Lake City.  Fitness Elevated was a success and I know that everyone that participated and competed had a great time.  Thanks to all those who came and cheered and supported all of the competitors.   To John, Jerry, Steve, Habb, Brock and Stacey… we are proud of what you each did.  The events where challenging to say the least and you all did great!  Being willing to put yourself out there and try your best is what it’s all about.  You all showed up and had an amazing experience!  Thanks for being part of our CrossFit Family.

For those who are interested here is a recap of the events.  For the MEN Event 1 was a 2 mile run outside that included a few obstacles and at the end a set of hurdles.  Event 2 was “Frun” – 4 min as many reps as possible of 1 thruster, 2 pull ups, 3 thrusters, 4 pull ups…you get the picture. Event 3 was 2 min as many reps as possible of shouldering a 115# stone immediately followed by 4 min to establish a 1 rep max snatch. Event 4 was held in a basketball court. Sprint down and back, then down and back with a 80# sandbag, then down and back again, then down and back again with the sand bag.

Women did “Frun” first, then the run and then followed the same order that all of the male athletes.

For the 5th and final event the top 20 female, top 20 men, top 6 female masters and top 6 male masters competed in the final event. Stacey Baker and John Apedaile competed in this final event from our box. The wod was 30 wall burpees, 30 sand bag push press (80#/40#), 30 double unders, 30 cal row, 30 russian kettle bell swings (70#/53#), 30 box jumps… and then in reverse order 15 reps of each.

Thanks again to all who participated and all who took their time to come and be apart of a fun day. Final results can be viewed here.
