Athlete Profile – Tammy Call

Tell us about yourself. I’m the mother of 3 kids, Jordan 18, Braden 15 and Brianna 13, and one wonderful husband Nate.

What is your day job? Just got my first job in 18 years. (Well, other than my fav job of being a mother) I work 2 days a week as a birth certificate specialist at the hospital. I love it!

How were you introduced to CrossFit? Braden started doing it with the LHS soccer team and I decided that if I had to drive him out to Smithfield I might as well be doing it myself!

What is your favorite WOD or Lift? (3x) 21 push ups, 21 sit ups, 21 box jumps, 200 M run

What is your favorite skill/movement that you have learned at CrossFit IoTA? Sumo deadlift high pull with the kettle bell

One word to describe me would be… organized

I have always wanted… to hike to Mt. Everest base camp. I keep trying to talk Nate into planning that…

Outside of the gym, I like to… cycle, hike, waterski, read, work in my yard, hang with my family, shop, travel

Three things you would always find in my fridge… DIET COKE, salad, salsa

Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me… I’m in better shape at 42 than I was at 24.

Favorite physical activity outside of CFI… cycling

Favorite place to eat in Cache Valley… Fredrico’s. Gotta love those ham and cheese salads! Rumbi is a close second.

Song(s) that gets me pumped up for a workout… Katy Perry, Good Charlotte, Kesha, Black Eyed Peas, and almost anything 80′s

The last thing I ate was… Does diet coke count?

My proudest accomplishment is… raising 3 fabulous kids.

My six month goal is… to drop 10 lbs. and get my toes to the bar! And maybe not hate running so much…it’s getting better

If I could have ANYBODY (living or dead) over for dinner, it would be… My grandpa Kyriopoulos who passed away when I was 2.

My favorite workout attire is… Yoga pants and a tank

My favorite workout partner(s)… Braden of course!

If you created a WOD and named it after yourself what would the workout be? 10 sumo deadlift high pulls, 20 walking lunges, 20 push ups, 20 sit ups, 40 jump rope (3x)

One thing I enjoy about Tammy is her positive and optimistic attitude. Almost every day she tells me “This was my favorite workout” or “I look forward to this part of my day”. Her upbeat nature helps and inspires everyone around her to do better. She really gets after the workouts and I enjoy her willingness to learn and push herself.” – Coach Paul
